Okay, here’s the drill. Rock Stars make Rock Music and live lives of luxury. They also are not self-appointed. We make no claims to be rock stars here; we can’t play any instruments and always look at anyone who claims to be a rock star with a jaundiced eye.
One reason the term Social Media Rockstar just doesn’t work for us – well, it’s kinda dumb.
Now, we’ll give you that there are a few people in the “industry” that we’d pay to see perform. And by perform, that means “give a speech.” Beyond that, though, we champion the people who work hard honing their craft, and the ones who aren’t afraid to make mistakes along the way.
Are you that sort of person? You may be someone who loves social media – but isn’t that like saying “I love TV?” Or “I love going online?”
When someone announces themselves to be a “Social Media Rockstar” – run. Fast. Away from their tour bus.
